About the Library
The Fairfield Area Library opened in its present location in 1976 to enhance the quality of community life in Eastern Henrico County. Previously, the library was located in the Hechler Village Building located at the corner of Nine Mile Road and Laburnum Avenue. At 24,0000 square ft. and with a diverse collection of items and a wide variety of program offerings, Fairfield appeals to patrons of all ages. Fairfield was the first Henrico library to offer convenient laptop check-out for use within the library. The building is currently shared with the Library Administrative Offices.
