Glossary of Terms
| Database | A database is an organized collection of information usually about one subject. Our library purchases many databases to provide you with premium content unavailable using a standard search engine. |
Instead of searching each database separately and entering the same information over and over, the Library uses OneSearch to search multiple databases all at once. This is called federated searching, or cross-database searching, and can save you a lot of time and effort. A single search retrieves the results from many individual databases. |
