Websites for Beginning Users
Are you new to using a mouse? Are you new to using Windows? Here are some Internet websites that can help you to develop and practice your skills.
Here's how to get to them:
Within the Library, ask a staff member to get you started.
Outside the Library, try this:
- Look for the mouse pointer on the screen.

- Move the mouse pointer over the underlined words until you see a hand.

- Click the left mouse button one time.
Northville District
Library
This tutorial has been designed to help people who have never
used a computer before. It will concentrate on using the mouse
and a few other basic skills.
Mousercise
A tutorial called Mousercise. The topics covered include: moving a mouse and clicking, radio buttons, check boxes, drop-down menus, scrolling, scroll-bar menus, pop-up windows, forms, copying & pasting text.
Camden County Library, NJ
Mouse Practice by Steve Garwood, Customer Education Librarian. This
tutorial is used in preparation for classes taught in the Camden County
Library. At the end of the mouse practice is a link for a Web class
tutorial. Mouse Practice covers moving the mouse, pointing,
clicking/right-clicking, scrolling, & clicking on links. If you
venture into the additional practice radio buttons, check boxes, drop-down
menus, selecting text, copy & paste are explored with a fun puzzle to do at
the end.
