Storytimes at the Library

Choosing the Right Storytime for your child

Storytimes are planned specifically for each age group. Your child will get the most from attending the storytime that is designed for his or her developmental level.

Lapsit Lambs: Birth to pre-walkers (select locations)
Mother Goose:

6 to 24 months

Toddler Time: 24 to 36 months
Preschool: 3 to 5 years
(may be unaccompanied, but caregiver participation is recommended)
Family: Ages 3 & up

Ensure maximum enjoyment and learning for your child and others by following these guidelines.

Every Child Ready to Read

Our storytimes are designed to help young children acquire the skills they need to start school ready to learn. We emphasize pre-literacy skills at storytime and use research-based best practices to help children learn them through fun activities. Learn more about early literacy and the Six early literacy skills.

Attendance Limits for Storytime

We strive to offer a quality storytime experience for you and your child. Therefore attendance is limited to 25 children accompanied by a caregiver at all storytimes. Please come early to avoid disappointment. Doors close 5 minutes after storytime begins to provide a more engaging experience. Storytimes are open to all, no registration is needed.

Child care groups, please call to schedule a storytime by appointment.
