Thank You for Attending All Henrico Reads with Walter Mosley

From book discussions and murder mystery nights, to local true crime and Gray Dawn-inspired mocktails, our All Henrico Reads fun culminated in an inspiring evening with award-winning writer Walter Mosley. A big thank you to everyone who attended last night's author event!

Throughout the evening, Mosley spoke on what it means to lead a “literary life.” And while Mosley’s life as an author has certainly led to what most of us consider a “literary life,” he emphasized that all of us, no matter what our profession, lead literary lives. “Language is everything,” Mosley remarked. It surrounds us every day. It is the stories we make up as children, on the playground. It is in the stories we share with family and friends about our history and experiences. It is how we connect to one another and, hopefully, broaden our worlds and perspectives. So, whether we’re writers, readers, or storytellers, we all play a role in the creation of the literary world in which we all live.

We are grateful to our sponsors, The Friends of Henrico Library, Henrico County Public Schools, and Henrico County for their support, and to local bookseller, Book People, for being on-site to provide copies of Walter Mosley's work. We would also like to thank our library staff for their hard work in making this year's All Henrico Reads possible.

To plan next year’s event and serve you even better, we invite you to share your thoughts in our 2026 All Henrico Reads Survey. Plus, we encourage you to stay tuned to our website, newsletter, and social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X) for future announcements about next year's author.

And if you’re looking for your next great mystery, check out our recent blog post about Black Voices in Mystery, Crime, and Noir or fill out a My Next Reads request to receive custom recommendations from one of our librarians!
