Join us to learn how circuits work and make a light saber card using paper circuits. This STEM project is fun for all ages, but small children will require help from their grownup.

Ages 4 and up. Maria Gianferrari, author of 2018-19 Virginia Reader's Choice Award nominated title Coyote Moon, will join us to talk hawks, urban ecology and to share her new title Hawk Rising! Afterward, we will enjoy a brief introduction to bird watching and some fun bird-related citizen science projects your family can take part in. We'll review some tips for spotting and identifying birds in the wild. Then we'll head outside for a short walk around the library to look for and count birds. All ages are welcome and there will be a craft for children. Children are required to have adult supervision.
