OverDrive & Libby Authentication: What to Know
Starting October 12, patrons will be asked to enter their PIN along with their library card number when logging in to HCPL’s OverDrive website and the Libby app. This is due to OverDrive’s ongoing commitment to providing secure user access. Read on to learn more about how to prepare for this upcoming change.
Every patron is provided with a default PIN (password) when they sign up for a library card. It is the same PIN that you use to log on to library computers and sign in to manage your library account.
Don't know your PIN? No worries! You can reset your PIN online. Visit the My Account link on our website, then click/tap "Forgot My PIN" to have a recovery link sent to the email address associated with your library card.
If you need assistance resetting your PIN, visit your closest library location and staff can assist you in person. You will need your library card and photo ID on hand.
Once you know your PIN, enter it when prompted by the Overdrive website or Libby app, then continue enjoying your ebooks and audiobooks!
