Thank You for Attending All Henrico Reads with Cheryl Strayed!

Untitled-design-38

We’d like to thank Cheryl Strayed and the community for joining us for an evening of conversation about connection, compassion, conservation, and the natural world. Read on for more about this year’s wonderful All Henrico Reads event!

In her discussion about her bestselling memoir, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail, Cheryl explored themes of loss, grief, and resilience. She spoke about her experience as a young woman learning to cope with the weight of life. And while for Cheryl, that weight manifested into a physical journey, she remarked, this journey is one we all make. Her deeply personal memoir speaks to the universal experience of learning to survive life’s challenges. We’ve all had to put on our backpacks and walk one foot in front of the other. It’s when we continue to move forward that we realize our strength.

Thank you again to Cheryl Strayed and everyone who attended last evening’s event or one of our All Henrico Reads-related programs. We are thankful to our sponsors, The Friends of Henrico County Public LibraryHenrico County Public Schools, and Henrico County, for their support, which makes All Henrico Reads possible. We are additionally thankful to local bookseller Book People and our library staff for their work in making the event a success.

You can continue to learn more about the outdoor world at our upcoming Let’s Go Hiking program or at one of our Community Science Month events.
